| Vivekananda SatavarshikiMahavidyalaya as it stands today since 17th August 1964, hastraversed a long way serving the community. Already it complete its fifty years of gloriousjourney. From the very beginning of our college, Commerce was taught in the higher secondary(10+2) level. Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com.) General course (previously known as passcourse) was introduced from 2001-2002 course with intake capacity 60. Accountancy Honours inB. Com. Course is started from session 2011-2012 with intake capacity 30. Now the intake capacity has been increased to 37. But in present situation this department suffers from lack of students both inhonours and General courses. One full time permanent teacher is dynamically carries out all thedepartmental activities with active assistance of two State Aided College Teachers. Dr.Chittaranjan Das, associate professor in this department was a teachers’ representative in theGoverning body from 2003 to 2016 and he also acted upon as a coordinator UGC sponsored entry in service programme. He is actively involved in different activities for smooth running of the college. Dr. Das is very active in his research work. He has published Sixteen (16) Articles in various Reputed / Referred Journals and also presented Seventeen (17) Papers in different State level / National level Seminars. Dr. Das has published an Edited Volume on “Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Indian Economy” in 2015 (ISBN 9788193149713). This department shows satisfactory results since very first dayof this department. |
