College has four NSS Units with four programme officers as their monitoring heads. The basic objectives of NSS are to encourage students for involvement in society welfare activities, to develop leadership qualities among the students and instill in them the spirit of comradership and sense of corporate life. Proforma for enrolment as NSS volunteer can be had from the college.
The college NSS units have a very successful record of wining awards at the various National Integration Camps. One of our volunteer Miss Anjana Singha has attened Commonwealth Day Celebration at Singapore as NSS volunteer and has attened International Youth Festival in China in the same capacity. She has also won the Indira Gandhi NSS Award for the year 2007. Sri Ramkhahari Pal, Programme Officer, NSS, has participated in the RD Camp 2009 at New Delhi as Contingent leader of West Bengal team and Dayamay Das, NSS volunteer of our college participated as a member of the team. Students are, therefore, advises to get themselves enrolled as NSS volunteers and make full use of the opportunities they will get to showcase and develop their talents.
NCC Companies for boys and girls of the college are under 25 Bengal BnNCC. One ANO is in charge of this Units. Student are required to apply in prescribed from for enrolmrent as NCC cadet in the 1st year class and get the enrolment renewed in the 2nd year and 3rd year classes. The basic aim of NCC is to devolp leadership qualities, sense of discipline, sense of devotation for national and social cause etc.
NCC Unit of the college is one of the best in the state. Our cadets have made their presence felt at State and National levels and have already won 06 Governors medels.
NCC cadets get chances to participate in number of activities such as camps at different parts of the country, expenditions to inculcate the spirit of adventure; Republic Day parades in Kolkata and New Delhi. State and Central Governments give a number of incentive to NCC cadets both in academic and employment fronts. NCC cadets having 'C' Certificates are given preference by Armed forces, BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, West Bengal Police etc. during their recruitment process and many of our cadets have joined these forces from this institution.
Student are therefore advised to join NCC as cadets and develop the skills required to face the challenges lying ahead with confidence.
